Lightning In A Bottle

"Lightning In A Bottle"
2011

They say that way too close is still too far
When it's compared to where you are
And I'm a patient man, who's waiting still
But how much time, will I have to kill
'Til I can part my eyes, and see your face
Shine the way it used to do
When we shared a bed, inside a space
And I slowly entered you
But in just a flash
I felt my passions crash
And I don't know
Why I feel this way again
But I'll gladly burn
Until I feel my light return
To here and now
And the bottle I'll catch it in
They say that losing love, still beats the feel
Of not feeling love at all
But that statement's false, and far from real
So don't ask a flying man to fall
I'll kiss the clouds, with waiting lips
Hoping to find your face in there
But in case I don't, you should know
That your love's far beyond compare
But in just a flash
I felt my passions crash
And I don't know
Why I feel this way again
But I'll gladly burn
Until I feel my light return
To here and now
And the bottle I'll catch it in
Here I stand, a smiling fool
Raising arms with glass in hand
Hoping that, some sacred rule
Is what my lighting understands
They say that what you love
Must be released into the waiting wild
In the hopes it will return
After you had to wait a while
But in just a flash
I felt my passions crash
And I don't know
Why I feel this way again
But I'll gladly burn
Until I feel my light return
To here and now
And the bottle I'll catch it in
So now here I stand, a smiling fool
With glass in hand, and cork in place
Thankful for, some sacred rule
That etched this smile upon my face
Because the one I loved, was once released
In to that waiting wild
And would you know, she did return
So I could love her all the while...
