The Price Of Denial

"The Price Of Denial"
2010

Take another aching step
That takes you through uncharted land
Observe your surroundings dear
Until you start to understand
The images your eyes will see
Are those better parts of me
And it is because of you
That these better parts are now in view
But here you'll find the water's cold
Like the shoulders I received
There were things I said to you
But they were not believed
So I want your eyes to see
As your mistakes are now displayed
Still it's you I long to lay beside
In this bed you never made
Take another lasting view
See your face upon the walls
And my voice it echoes true
Hear the sounds of my unheeded calls
When I cried out late at night
After the day had not gone right
But I searched and you went unfound
So now you roam this unforgiving ground
And it's here you'll find the water's cold
Like the shoulders I received
There were things I said to you
But they were not believed
So I want your eyes to see
As your mistakes are now displayed
Still it's you I long to lay beside
In this bed you never made
Take a breather now my dear
Feel the breath consumed by lungs
Jacob's ladder lies in sight
Feel free to use its' waiting rungs
To escape this vengeful mind of mine
That grew obsessions slowly over time
And it wants you to long reside
Within the confines of the one you denied
Here where you'll find the water's cold
Like the shoulders I received
There were things I said to you
But they were not believed
So I want your eyes to see
As your mistakes are now displayed
Still it's you I long to lay beside
In this bed you never made
You will find no tribulations here
But you will receive a little trial
To see if you can afford to pay
The price of your denial
And I would take installments dear
If you plan to reimburse that way
But the thing I truly want
Is to find a way to make you stay
...With me.
