The Sound Of Fears

"The Sound Of Fears"
2010

Like tribal drums inside my ears
I recognize the sound of fears
Manifesting into thoughts
That'll trap my mind for years
But your smile was like the key
That could turn and set me free
But there was another in your path
Leaving bondage as the aftermath
So until you find a way to clear the lane
I will spend my days in pain
Beneath the weight of words unsaid
In the prison that's inside my head
Like rows of bars in front me
Are the places I will never be
Like inside your waiting arms
Or beside you as you sleep so peacefully
But your hands were like the wind
That could find their way within
These walls that were made of stone
And cause me to spend my days alone
Until you find a way to clear the lane
I will spend my days in pain
Beneath the weight of words unsaid
In the prison that's inside my head
As my hands start to blossom into fists
I think about the things I've missed
As you speak about your obstacle
Do you notice that I exist
Or are your eyes still blind to truth
Knowing fears will suffocate my youth
While only you could stop this waiting death
By parting lips and sharing breath
But until you find a way to clear the lane
I will spend my days in pain
Beneath the weight of words unsaid
In the prison that's inside my head
And in this cell that's far from view
I will sit and choose to wait for you
Until I'm granted a much deserved parole
On the day your love begins to make me whole...
