The Confines Of A Pantomime

"The Confines Of A Pantomime"
2010

When you start to analyze
Do you find your hidden prize
Beneath the layers of the veil
That we cling to like a sail
As we float adrift and tireless
Until we feel how close the fire is
To our fragile little shell of skin
That protects everything we've kept within
The confines of a pantomime
That will find its' fair release in time
But until you start to speak it out
You'll only know what fear's about
And shutting down a point of view
Will cause the world to point at you
While crying of your heresy
Since they're so blind they'll never see
That when you to start to look around
You can describe the thing you found
That has caused your eyes to turn away
From all of this ignorance today
Like blaming ills on darkened hues
While counting every cent they lose
That's not inside their collection plates
While scientists discuss our final fates
Inside the confines of a pantomime
That will find its' fair release in time
But until you start to speak it out
You'll only know what fear's about
And shutting down a point of view
Will cause the world to point at you
While crying of your heresy
Since they're so blind they'll never see
That we could paint our faces white
But it won't make the silence right
And pretending we are trapped inside
A see-through box just may provide
The excuse so many need
To not allow their souls to feed
On the answers that we're searching for
So in the end they just confuse us more...
