In A Time Of Change

"In A Time Of Change"
2011

I remember quite a time ago
When we liked to take it slow
But the world started moving fast
And the present turned to past
But the things we used to want
Just gave way to the things
That we fools put up with now
'Cause nobody ever sings
Sometimes for the better
Sometimes for the worse
And I'm sure you would've noticed it
If I hadn't first
But who should bear the blame
When things start getting strange
'Cause the only thing that stays the same
Is that things will always change
And I remember quite a time ago
We were given room to grow
And now we have to keep up with
Every fancy little gift
That technology seems to give
To help our generation live
But there's a price we have to pay
When we don't hear a person say
Sometimes for the better
Sometimes for the worse
And I'm sure you would've noticed it
If I hadn't first
But who should bear the blame
When things start getting strange
'Cause the only thing that stays the same
Is that things will always change
And it's with ease we seem to see
The way things always used to be
But a way to replicate the time
Is what we never seem to find
So what can we hope to do
After every day is through
But to close our eyes and wish
That people loved to feel like this
Sometimes for the better
Sometimes for the worse
And I'm sure you would've noticed it
If I hadn't first
But who should bear the blame
When things start getting strange
'Cause the only thing that stays the same
Is that things will always change
'Cause you can put an "i" in front of everything
And you can put on your silly bling
But friend it will never take the place
Of the look upon your face
During the times you never had a care
And did every crazy thing you dared
But now the kids are way too cool to play
So I doubt we'll ever hear them say
Sometimes for the better
Sometimes for the worse
And I'm sure you would've noticed it
If I hadn't first
But who should bear the blame
When things start getting strange
'Cause the only thing that stays the same
Is that things will always change...
