Obviously Oblivious

"Obviously Oblivious"
2010

A mild-mannered disposition.
A temperament restrained.
Are often my only offerings
And you never once complained.
For you are obviously oblivious
To the things I say and do
And you've yet to figure out
The reasons why I look at you
For most men have two eyes
But they don't work like mine
Because when you are seen by me
You appear to be divine
But when you are glanced by them
You are just a source of flesh
For them to chase and lay to waste
And your souls will never mesh
In the world that they inhabit dear
Your kind is nothing more
Than a notch upon some bedpost
And a pile of clothes upon the floor
But in the world that I inhabit dear
The stars are in your eyes
I swear I still can't look away
I've lost count of all my tries
Don't you see I'm lost within your orbit
And speechless when you speak
And the quickest little glance from you
Makes me feel a little weak
For it puts a crack in my resolve
And my ego deflates a bit
But for reasons I do not understand
I enjoy every seconds' length of it
And my words sound like compliments
When you are drawing near
And I possess the fiercest roar
That your ears will never hear
For I wish not raise my voice
Only my hands to touch your face
And to plant the softest kiss upon your lips
As I feel your warm embrace
But still these requests are hollow
And dreams that bloom inside my mind
Since you aren't aware that I'm alive
Much less the lucky soul you'd find
When you slipped into your bed at night
To rest your perfect frame
Although I've been within your sight for months
I bet you barely know my name
But I'm the most patient of the creatures
God created in this form
And even though your shoulder's cold
I'll still long to make it warm
In the hopes I will get a chance
To feel the rest of you
For your facade and clothing hide
What I'd say is the best of you
And those are the parts I do not know
For they're not visible to me
And I wasn't until I met you
That I learned I wasn't visible to see
But I think my luck would change
If you read these words of mine
And maybe your shoulder's temperature
Would finally warm in time
For me to reveal what you should know
And to prove that every word was true
But until that day, I'll stay away
And I guess, I'll just enjoy the view...
