"Repeated Questions, Unstated Answers"
2009
Lately I wonder.
And through my endless thoughts I wander.
Like the strongest tide, I'm pulled asunder,
Submerged in all that I seem to ponder.
What is the purpose behind this life?
Is it to strongly love and then to quickly lose?
Is it to taste a drop of bliss, to have it chased by strife?
Does it correlate to the final destination, that we have to choose?
I don't know the answers.
And I expect the same from you.
But most people will often state,
"That to live and learn is truly best for us to do."
And while I agree with that,
Why do the answers still elude?
Those of us who fight to think and think to fight
As our swords and shields protrude.
Until they cut the tension in the air
That silence often brings about
Or until the echoes of frustrated screams
Remove all we can do without.
While the human mind's in constant flux
Burning brightly through our dreams
Where ids and egos collide and prove
That nothing's what it seems
For in this world the truth is saught
But seldom ever found
So we close our eyes and take to skies
Because our feet are allowed to leave the ground
But when we're awake, we stand and shake
Like leaves in an unforgiving breeze
While asking complex things in simple ways
That will confuse us all with ease
But it's in our nature to question things
Even though acceptance suits us best
For we have a flame within our souls
That will only burn and never rest
In closing, I guess there are some things
We humans were never meant to know
For if everything laid within our reach
We'd have insufficient room to grow...
And what kind of way to live is that?
