"More Than Your Balance"
2010
We started on a level field
But the balance was sure to tip
And you didn't even yield
So I watched you start to slip
Your ground was giving way
But I refused to lift a hand
Then I only wished you well
And hoped you'd finally understand
That past this point's a long fall
And I don't care if it breaks you
Yes, I hear you call
But you have to go where it takes you
And you're in pieces now
Feel the wind as it shapes you
You were beside a good thing
But now the bottom awaits you
How's the view from beneath
Do you find it's harder to reach
The hourglass that will drain
Until one half resembles a beach
But if you were able to grasp
And flip the glass on its' end
You couldn't erase what you did
So enjoy your suffering friend
As you take this long fall
And I don't care if it breaks you
Yes, I hear you call
But you have to go where it takes you
And you're in pieces now
Feel the wind as it shapes you
You were beside a good thing
But now the bottom awaits you
Now I don't wish you the worst
But I don't hope for the best
No, I just want you to see
That you mean even less than the rest
Who lie in the same place
In a position that's sad
After you lost more than your balance
And the best thing you could've had
Before you took this long fall
And I don't care if it breaks you
Yes, I hear you call
But you have to go where it takes you
And you're in pieces now
Feel the wind as it shapes you
You were besides a good thing
But now the bottom awaits you
So I'll make sure you never forget
What you may come to regret
The future's approaching me fast
As you become a part of the past
But the thing I'm sure to recall
Is that you ruined it all
Now it's time you started to reap
And accepted that you deserve the company you keep...
