Internal Conversations

"Internal Conversations"
2010

Hello, old friend.
How are you?
What's that? Who is it you ask?
It is I. I am true. For I am you.
I am the product of your mind, and the constructor of thoughts.
I am both your conscience and your consciousness.
Who am I you ask? That is simple. I am the voice inside your head.
I am your true thoughts spoken aloud as they go unheard.
I am the visions of the lives you envy as you suffer through your own.
I am everything important within you, yet, I am intangible.
And why do I exist? If you knew that, then you would know why you exist.
And the truth is, you don't know why, do you?
No? I didn't think so friend.
For the things you know are solely material.
The things you know are mundane.
The things you know mean nothing on the grand scale of universal knowledge.
And deep down that is the reason for the fear.
The fear you feel.
The fear that pulls at your soul, as your body tosses and turns at night.
And let's talk about fear.
I've come to learn that as a human being, you fear three things.
That which you do not understand.
That which you cannot control.
And that which possesses the power to destroy you.
To further elaborate this paradox, or this trinity if you will, I will reveal something else.
This is the reason why your kind so clings to God.
For He is the manifestation of those three fears.
He was those three fears manifested inside allegorical writings.
But your feeble minds thought it best for Him to become those three fears made literal.
The greatest source of your hopes, dreams, and fears made flesh.
It is why you label Him as "Father," as well as a vengeful and a jealous god.
You need to ascribe to Him the qualities that will make him both relatable and comprehensible.
But the truth is there. The truth is just beneath the surface.
And the truth is, is that He is neither.
No, what He is, besides being the creator of all, is simply a conduit for debate.
A debate between mortals.
A debate between those who are the same, and different at the same time.
For you humans are all alike.
Though you seek to divide yourselves by races, creeds, and/or classes.
But you are ALL the same.
And since it is division you seek, I will divide you into two categories.
Those who want to believe.
And those who need to be certain.
Those who want to believe, rely on signs and scriptures to define life for them.
While those who need to be certain, rely on rulers and bathroom scales, to tell them how much life has been lived.
But I have rambled on enough, friend.
I feel you trying to awaken to greet another meaningless day.
So now I will rest, until I am called upon, or until I feel you need guidance.
Rest assured, we will talk again.
But what I ask of you, is that every now and then, you take your eyes off the skies.
And try to look within....
