As the blue begins to fade away
I'm left with thoughts of you
And I've worked myself into a haze
By the time those thoughts are through
I pictured things that made me smile
And would probably make you blush
But I can't help the fact that you can wink
And give my soul a rush
So as the night becomes a vibrant black
The breeze will bring a chill
That's sure to sting these open arms
That your body needs to fill
So stop killing precious seconds and
Say we're more than friends
And I will defend your sacred love
'Til the day my story ends
And it's from inside this tired throne
That we both shall rule
And I'd define myself as smart
But darling I would be your fool
If you unsheathe my sword tonight
In a way I've dreamed about
So I can slay the beast of loneliness
And give you what you've been without
For what has seemed like years
And an entire life for me
And it wasn't until I saw your face
That I knew that I could be
Favored by the Lord I used to doubt
And was even bold enough to curse

With a kiss from my welcomed prize

I could feel the fire rise

But as I laid there I heard a voice
That had the sweetest tone
And she said, "please call in to work
I don't wanna spend this day alone."
And that was all it took for a heart to race
And for a hand to find the phone
As I then released my best excuse
And was allowed to keep myself at home
And then she took me to place
I swear I've never been
And I don't care if it's heresy
But I would die to go again
So as I'm reborn inside the arms
Of what I'd call a goddess true
I'm satisfied beyond all means
And will leave my crown and throne to you...
