Dance Inside The Wind

"Dance Inside The Wind"
2009

The mind is but a fertile place
Where I sow my seeds of hate
Hoping that you will come to reap
Before the day gives way to late
So you can grasp what's tangible
And buried in my thoughts
Where your face has stained the land
With the disaster it has brought
So you can let your lightning flash
And you can make your thunder sing
As your bring your rains again
To drown your living king
But the last laugh eludes
Those who'd betray the friend
Who gets to stand and smile
As they dance inside the wind
The heart's a baron plain
Where love has withered dry
And emotions once in bloom
Will finally have to die
So you can grasp the ashes
Of the bridges that you burned
But the tables will revolve
And we'll see what you have learned
So you can let your lightning flash
And you can make your thunder sing
As your bring your rains again
To drown your living king
But the last laugh eludes
Those who'd betray the friend
Who gets to stand and smile
As they dance inside the wind
You claim to love the ones
You often hurt the worst
And your make-up runs
When you find you're far from first
And being second-best
Doesn't suit your soul at all
So pride will often surface
Just before you take your fall
And it's in the pieces where you lay
That I pray to God you'll stay
Draped in cuts and minor scrapes
As what is left of me escapes
Because your clutch was much too tight
And your actions far from right
So I'm destroying what is left
Do your best to save your breath...
So you can let your lightning flash
And you can make your thunder sing
As your bring your rains again
To drown your living king
But the last laugh eludes
Those who'd betray the friend
Who gets to stand and smile
As you dance inside the wind
Take the hint and go away
So I can find a better day
Oh, the breeze will play your song
So dance, as you're blown away.
